SEA (Services for Empowerment and Advocacy) has been set up as an Independent advocacy and Involvement service based in Nottingham. Although SEA is independent we work in partnership with HLG (Hostels Liaison Group) also based in Nottingham. SEA is a social enterprise that will only use any surplus for the benefit of the community and developing services.
The purpose of SEA is to develop and deliver a range of advocacy and service user involvement services. We believe that enabling people to have a voice and take action leads to positive influence at a grass roots and strategic level.
Our experience has shown us that access to an independent advocacy service can lead to positive results for service users, staff and service providers. Our working practice is firmly based on the concept of “Dialogue not Confrontation” this happens by encouraging and enabling service users to speak up & have their views heard.
Our work with organisations helps them get a clearer understanding of why they want to hear the views of the people that use their services. We encourage, support & train individuals to get involved with the services they receive. We endeavour to make people aware of their choices and encourage their involvement at a strategic level.
